Live-Streaming Tips
MinistryLift is committed to providing good quality live-streaming of our training events and webinars. As we continue to live-stream these events, we are learning how we can do so more effectively. Of course, we recognize that technology does not always fully cooperate. If you are having trouble with your live-streaming feed during a training event, you can contact our Live-streaming Coordinator (we will provide this email address to you when you register to live-stream an event). In most cases, we are able to help you solve the problem.
Here are a few steps you can take before the event to help maximize your live-streaming experience:
- Use the newest computer at your disposal (the higher the CPU, the faster the decoding of the video which will result in a smoother video experience)
- If possible, use an Ethernet cable to plug into your network router (as opposed to using WiFi, which is typically slower)
- Close all other programs on your computer
- Pause any virus scans and/or computer updates since this can diminsh CPU performance
- Make sure that you or no one else on your network is doing major downloads/uploads during the live-stream
- Change the resolution of your device
- Be aware of the setting locations for your computer's volume (audio levels and microphone levels)
- Test your equipment beforehand. If you would like to do a test the night before the conference, please contact us and let us know.
