Servant Leadership Series

The Servant Leadership Series is a collection of seven interactive workshops that will help you grow in your capacity to serve and resource others. The sessions draw upon biblical foundations, current theory, case studies, and personal assessments to strengthen your development as a leader.

Video recordings of each workshop can be viewed by current MinistryLift members or you can contact MinistryLift to discuss how this training can be brought to your ministry setting.

The foundation of godly servant leadership is a vibrant relationship with God. This workshop identifies the key elements for how individuals can help ourselves and others take next steps in our relationship with Jesus. One of the practical applications will be learning how to use a Rule of Life to grow one’s relationship with Jesus. [Note: Please complete the free Sacred Pathways Assessment before this workshop.] View video recording.

Many leaders have impressive skills, but lack the character qualities that undergird long-term leadership effectiveness. Based on his recent research study of over 100 leaders, Dr. Randy Wollf will share how we can develop character qualities that will help us reflect Christ and increasingly serve well (and help others do the same). [Note: Please complete the Christian Life Profile by Randy Frazee and bring the personal and other assessments to the workshop. View video recording

God has a special plan for every believer. When we and the people around us discern God’s calling, we often live with greater focus and passion. This workshop will lead participants through a process of discerning and living out their God-given calling. View video recording

In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to discern your current strengths and develop some essential skills for helping others grow as followers of Jesus. Please complete the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment (you will need to purchase the book to get the access code) and the online Ministry Match assessment, as we will be discussing the results during part of the session. This workshop will help you sharpen skills related to recruiting and serving volunteers in ways that help volunteers live out their calling with excellence and a deep sense of fulfillment while making an important contribution to the ministry or program in which they volunteer. In unhealthy teams, team members often mistrust one another, communication is poor at best, vision is lacking, and team efforts are uncoordinated and largely ineffective. In this workshop, we will look at these kinds of factors that diminish a team’s effectiveness and how leaders and other team members can address these challenges and build healthy teams that increasingly produce amazing results (and enjoy the process of doing so). In this full-day workshop, you will learn a leader's approach to coaching others based on Keith Webb’s book, The COACH Model for Christian Leaders. During the training sessions, you will learn how to better connect with another person, determine the objective of a coaching conversation, build awareness of the key issues in the coachee’s life, work with the coachee to determine next steps, and review the highlights of the session. You will also have an opportunity to learn and practice essential coaching skills such as listening, asking good questions, focusing, and empowering. By the end of the training, participants will be able to use this model to coach others. This coaching approach is an excellent way of helping staff, volunteers, team members, co-workers, and family members take next steps in their development as leaders. View video recording.
